Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission has announced five new hires to serve their 40 member communities.

"We are excited to welcome this group of fresh thinkers to our skilled team of planners and coordinators. These roles reflect CMRPC's progress to provide a wider range of planning services throughout the Central Mass region,” said Janet A. Pierce, CMRPC's Executive Director.

The new hires are as follows:

Claire Bayler

A graduate of Clark University, Bayler joined CMRPC as a planning assistant for the Regional Collaboration and Community Planning Department where she is excited to lend her skills to Green Communities projects as well as a Master Plan for the town of Holden.

While in school, Bayler collaborated with Oxfam to model social conflict in Peru around mining operations to inform their policy approach. She is currently working to build a 30-year Land Change Model for the Nature Conservancy that will be plugged into a continent-wide model.

Chris Bennet

Bennet walked through the doors of CMRPC as an intern from Westfield State University and was recently hired as a planning assistant with a focus on GIS to join the Transportation Department. In addition to data collection and entry, Bennet will work with GIS software and assist the team with traffic counting this summer. He is eager to grow within this field and to support both daily and long-term development initiatives that are intended to strengthen the Central Massachusetts region.

Andrea Lettic

Lettic joined the Administration team at CMRPC as a Communications Specialist, bringing more than 11 years of marketing experience along with her. A graduate of Rutgers University, she will work to develop effective communication strategies throughout the agency and lend a hand to provide administrative assistance when needed. Andrea is a member of the Junior League of Worcester as well as a media coordinator for stART on the Street. She looks forward to this new chapter and is excited to learn more about local government.

Leah Stanley

Stanley recently graduated from the Environmental Science Program at Worcester State University and was hired to join the Regional Collaboration and Community Planning team at CMRPC as a GIS Planning Assistant. Leah's time at the agency began with an internship where she received GIS and hazard mitigation planning experience. She is looking forward to working on pre-disaster mitigation mapping as well as assisting on a variety of municipal GIS projects for our members.

Elizabeth Wood

With more than 10 years of planning experience, Wood was hired as a Principal Planner to assist the Regional Collaboration and Community Planning Department. She spent 8.5 years as a planner for towns of roughly 16,000 people, including Sheridan, WY and Windham, NH. Most recently she spent 2 years in the private sector working as a Senior Planner for Planwell Resources, LLC, based in Bedford, NH. At CMRPC, Wood shares her skills on projects such as master plan development, zoning ordinance revisions as well as technical assistance throughout the agency.
