Pratt will be recognized in Boston at Mass General’s “The One Hundred” event on Thursday, June 15.
Paul Pratt
Pratt, an experienced electrician, was diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma, which occurs in the cavity surrounding the stomach and other abdominal organs.
His disease was caused by exposure to wiring systems containing asbestos over a period of many years.
After making progress throughout his treatment, Pratt wanted to show his appreciation to his surgeon, Dr. James Cusak and his oncologist, Dr. Andrew Zhu.
With the proceeds he received from a court settlement related to his asbestos exposure, Pratt supported Dr. Cusak and Dr. Zhu’s research which focuses the development of novel targeted therapies to improve patient survival.
