If you're on the lookout for a new pet for you or your family, look no further.
Whether you want a dog, a cat, or even a furry little friend to complete your home, think adoption first! There are hundreds of lovable pets just waiting for you to take them home in rescue leagues and shelters everywhere.
Check out these 10 pets available for adoption from the Broken Tail Rescue League, below
April is a playful and energetic 2 year kitty with a beautiful and soft white coat, cute charcoal face mask, and black patches on her back and tail.
April was surrendered from a house with many cats and likely did not receive much attention or human affection. She came to us as a very shy kitty, wary of new people. Since being in a foster home, she has blossomed and is now showing off her wonderful, lively personality.
Bella is a very beautiful, shy calico. She is a gentle soul and will need a special human friend to accommodate her quirks and give her time to warm up. She is very sweet and likes attention, but is also very sensitive. When she gets scared, she buries her head in her blankie.
Earl is the sweetest cat around and is estimated to be about 7 years old. He enjoys gazing out the window and sleeping at the foot of your bed. He loves nothing more than to get head and chin scratches and if you scratch his upper shoulders you’ll get to hear his nice low rumble of a purr that doesn't stop! Once you get Earl purring from pets and scratches he will usually beg for more! He is a great companion for someone who likes a cat who is always lounging near by, but not always on your lap. He is affectionate and when he wants your attention he will come to you, but also he takes much content in just being in the room with you. He also enjoys being brushed and the Furminator is his favorite.
Pilgrim is a handsome, stately looking fellow who starts purr when you walk in the door! He is sweet and friendly- besides receiving pets, his favorite activity is to roll in catnip.
Meet Willow! She's a downy-soft glamour-girl with extra toes and a smidge of cattitude. Her whiskey-smoked meow and big green eyes will sweep you off your feet. She'll greet you with purrs and bump her head into your arm for pats. Willow adores attention—in fact a little worship would be just fine with her! But don't take this princess for granted! If she's had enough, she'll raise a paw as a little reminder of who is the royalty around here. Give her a bit of space, and she's ready for more love and coos. Willow gladly accepts offerings, especially catnip and yummies in little cans. She's inquisitive and sociable, and would adore a kingdom of her own with many cozy cushions and a servant or two at her beck and mew.
Seasons greetings! My name is Duke. I am a purebred buff cocker spaniel male with a beautiful long coat. Sorry you can't see how lovely my coat is right now but it was badly matted and the groomer shaved me down. It will grow back and I will be in my glory once again. For now, I am wearing a sweater to stay warm. Weighing in at 22 lbs (probably less without my fur coat), I have been brought up to date on all vaccines and am scheduled to be neutered in the next few days. Didn't put that on my Xmas wish list.
Lillie is an 11 month old terrier mix. She weighs about 12 lbs.
She gets along well with the other dogs, wants to play, loves toys, and ignores the cat. Lillie is working on her house training with her foster mom, she makes progress every day. She loves her people, and will follow her foster mom everywhere she goes. She is the ultimate velcro dog! She does not love the crate, as she prefers to be with her people.
I’m so happy to meet you! My name is Mason and I am a happy, energetic 6 year old, 68 lb. neutered, goofy and loving male Redbone Coonhound mix. I am content to spend most of my days snoozing on my cot or lounging out in the sun, but I also love nightly back rubs and attention from my humans.
Unfortunately, when I was just a puppy, I had to be rescued from an abusive situation that arose when my first human discovered that even though I look like a hunting dog, I’m not actually very good at sniffing out prey, so I can sometimes be wary around some (but not all) men. But give me a treat and I promise to warm up to you and trust you completely.
Mr. W is a Cairn Terrier mix with many of the redeeming qualities only a Terrier lover can appreciate. Mr. W's estimated age is between 6 and 8 years old. He weighs 18 pounds and he's house trained. His backstory prior to being found in the streets of Northern Massachusetts is unknown. Since coming into rescue a number of medical issues have been addressed. Mr. W's temperament can be described as cranky.
Meet Ulysses, also known as Uly. This 2yr old neutered pit bull weighing in at 60 pounds might just be your dream dog. Uly is people and dog friendly. Although he loves to lounge around on the couch or in bed with his people, Uly also loves to run and play outside. He is house trained and sleeps in a crate throughout the night.
