Wilma (and Fred)
Fred and Wilma are a bonded pair of friendly, sweet and loving Chihuahua's who are new to BTR and looking for their forever home together. We will post more as we get to know them!
Fred and Wilma each weigh about 6 lbs, are good with other dogs and cats, and respectful kids. They are house trained, walk well on a leash, and sleep together in their crate. Fred is between 2-4 years old, and is an easy going guy. Wilma is about 1 year old and has the energy level of a young dog. Both love walks, and running around together in the yard! -
Spirit
Hello! Let me introduce myself -- my name is Spirit! This is probably because I am a small dog with a big personality. I'm only 6 lbs (and 6 years old), but that doesn't stop me from making sure everyone knows where they stand in my world. I can be a bit possessive with my toys and food, so I'd do best in a quiet home with older children or adults who will respect my space and help me learn to share. When I'm feeling cuddly, I'll will jump into your lap for chin, head, and nose rubs. We can watch TV together while I curl up on your lap!
I I love walks and rides -- just show me the leash and I am ready! I really like being outside and running around with my dog friend. Though I must admit, I don't like the rain very much, and the crate isn't my favorite -- I'd rather sleep with my person. I need some time to trust new people, so please don't pick me up until I get to know you a bit better -- I'll let you know when I'm ready. I get along well with dogs, cat, and ferrets, as long as they don't try to eat my food. -
Stimpy
Stimpy (formerly named Blackie) is an energetic estimated six-year-old terrier mix, weighing about 13lbs. He has a large head, big paws, and tiny legs. We aren't entirely sure his parents breeds, but whatever they were they made one adorable pup! Stimpy is currently housed in a foster house with four other dogs, and loves nothing more than chasing after his foster brothers and sister in the yard and chewing up their favorite toys when they aren’t looking. This little guys packs a HUGE personality in his tiny body, and barreling into his humans for attention his another favorite activity. When he wants attention, he has no problem using those tiny, stumpy legs to hop up onto the couch and push his way into your lap.. He is good to be crated at night and during the day, though he may bark at first (and will continue to bark if he can see you from his crate). On the plus side, he has the most hilarious and wheezy bark there is (probably from such a huge head on such a little body), so it may provide you with a little chuckle on your way out the door. If he is going to be crated through the day, just keep in mind that a high-energy fellow like Stimpy is going to need walks, or time to run around and play, to keep him healthy and happy. Don’t let his little size fool you, he is full of spunk and sass and would be best suited in an active house that will make sure he gets out and about in the world.

Simba
My name is Simba, and I’m a senior gentleman looking for a quiet place to call home! I lived with the same nice man my entire life, but when he became hospitalized for a long-term illness, he sadly had to ask Broken Tail Rescue to find me a new family.
I am 13 years old and I weigh about 15 pounds. Though I am getting up there in age, I still have a lot of pep in my step and I am excited to be alive. If you see me you'll think, "wow, that is a happy dog!" I am completely housebroken and am an easy dog to have around the house. I love to chill in my bed or at my foster parents feet, and I am not barky, except when I'm crated and I need to go potty. I also enjoy snuggling with my owners either on the couch or on the floor. I LOVE to sleep in bed with my people but please don't roll over or kick me or I might just have to bite you, sorry not sorry. I will forgive you though if you can forgive me. -
Java
Hi, I'm Java! I am a brindle baby girl with a fun, playful spirit. I'll wake you right up and put a smile on your face; Better than any cup of coffee!
I love to eat, play tug, chase after my siblings and my toys! Wee! The best part about me is, when I get sleepy, I want to cuddle right up with you! Nothing like snuggling under blankets on the couch on a cool fall night with a good book and Java! -
Elsa
Meet Elsa -- a friendly five old tortie girl beauty who is mellow, affectionate, and funny!
She will either be right up next to you (or on top of you!), cuddling, purring, and meowing for cuddles, or is perfectly content hanging out in favorite spots around the house. -
Clarice
Clarice is a pretty tuxedo girl, about a year old. She was great while in foster care before arriving in the Adoption Center. She continues to show a sweet and cuddly personality. She's looking for her forever home!

Izzy
Izzy is a gorgeous, long-haired Torbie (tortie-tabby combo), 9 years old, who was surrendered after her owner passed away. It's no wonder she was a bit on the quiet side while she acclimatized to her new situation.
Izzy can be shy and skittish at first. She may need some time to adjust and would do well with a patient, understanding purrson who will let her blossom into a happy, confident girl. Once Izzy is feeling comfortable, she is very sweet and comes to you for pets and gives many head butts. She also loves playing and chasing after toys. Whether she's being pet or playing, she'll soon purr up a happy storm! -
Buddy
Buddy is a striking looking Siamese mix, seven years old, who has a LOT of love to give -- he currently tips the scales at 19 lbs.
Buddy is friendly and loves to be brushed with his preferred grooming aid, the Furminator. We brushed at least one cat's worth of loose fur off him and could've easily kept going. -
Icee
Icee is a sweet tortie girl who's friendly, enjoys attention, and can't wait for her forever home so she can get started on a new life of shared love, cuddles, and companionship!
Icee has a congenital eye condition that required eye surgery which has been done successfully, but she still needs a minor surgical procedure to remove some eyelashes to make everything work well.
