There is plenty going on around Worcester to keep you busy this weekend. From concerts to art exhibits, there are events for all ages. 

This weekend’s events include live music from the Drunken Uncles, Family Farm Fest at Old Sturbridge Village, Touch-a-Truck and more.

  • April 13

    Glassblowing Floppy Bowls at New Street Glass Studio

    After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own floppy bowl from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

    Students will choose their own colors and instructors will guide the class through the steps from gathering to applying colors, from blowing out the bubble to spinning it open to create each unique floppy shape. No experience is necessary and all materials are included. 

    The class goes from 6:30 p.m.to 9:30 p.m.

    Playfully observing and exploring the connection between humans and their electronic devices in a series of sculptural scenarios.

    Friday Morning Birds at Mass Audubon

    Enjoy a leisurely birding experience and help document the sanctuary birds over the season. This weekly walk helps us confirm which birds are migrating and which are year-round residents.

    Family Farm Fest at Old Sturbridge Village

    Old Sturbridge Village invites young and old to celebrate spring with the arrival of baby animals and the preparation of our planting fields. Meet the Villages cuddly, heritage breed newborns up-close and experience first-hand the responsibilities of raising animals on a farm in 1830.

    At the Freeman Farm, families will learn about 19th-century agriculture practices and tools, as well as learn how they are applicable to todays farmers and even backyard gardeners. Kids will even have a chance to try their hand at seasonal chores. 

    The festival goes from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Zumba at Worcester Public Library 

    Zumba classes are for ages 12 and older. Wearing work-out clothes and sneakers is recommended. And remember to bring water.

    Zumba is an hour-long, high energy, calorie-burning fitness class that uses pop and Latin music to create a dance-party atmosphere.

    Meet Star Wars Characters at Worcester Art Museum 

    The 501st Legion & The Rebel Legion is your chance to get your picture taken with members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base, the officially approved Star Wars costuming group.
