There is plenty going on around Worcester to keep you busy this weekend. From music to art, there are events for all ages.
This weekend’s events include the Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, Monster Trucks at the DCU Center, a live animal show and more.

Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra at Mechanics Hall
Direct from China, the Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra is Music Worcester's first symphonic presentation of the season. The star-studded program will feature Rossini's Barber of Seville Overture, Sibelius' Violin Concerto, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "New World."
The show begins at 8 p.m.
Artwork and EgoesThe Salisbury Portraits and their Creators at Worcester Historical Museum
Using a PowerPoint presentation at WHM, Salisbury Mansion docent JoAnn Mills and site manager Robert Stacy will discuss the personal and professional histories of the artists who painted portraits of Salisbury family members over the decades and place the Salisbury portraits in the context of the artists’ other work.
Attendees will be invited to visit Salisbury Mansion afterward to see the family portraits in their house.
The event begins at 12 p.m.

Live Animal Show: The Nature of My Backyard at Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center & Wildlife Sanctuary
Are you ready to meet some of the wild creatures living right in our own backyards? Creature Teachers will introduce you to some common animals we share space with. You might meet a fisher, skunk, turtle, fox, or even a flying squirrel.
This presentation features live animals and explores the lives of these fascinating creatures. Two sessions are being offered.
Shows start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Worcester Pop Up: Learn and See Tribal Fusion Belly Dance
Did you know Belly Dance is great for everybody no matter the age, size, shape, gender? Belly dance promotes a great body image, a sense of serenity, self-confidence, balance, harmony, and well-being. Belly dance is fantastic for your flexibility, balance, grace, and strength, and is a fun way get your body moving. You will be amazed at what your body can do!
You don't need dance experience; everybody, any gender, any age, shape, size or fitness level can belly dance

The Breakfast Club at Worcester Public Library
Grades 4-6; come in to talk about our favorite MCBA-nominated books. You do not need to read the books prior to attending; just show up and we’ll chat about them over juice and Dunkin’ Donuts

INSTA - Social Media & Photography Discussion at Worcester Center for Crafts
Join panelists Matthew Gamber, Colleen Fitzberald, Greer Muldownney, Eric Nichols & Catherine Wilcox Titus in a discussion on what photography is today. With the rise of cellphone cameras and the popularity of social media platforms, making photographic images has changed forever.
With our digital identities relying so heavily on images for meaning, how has that impacted photography as an artform? What is photography today, anyway?
The discussion begins at 1:30 p.m.
Camellias In The Apothecary Garden at Tower Hill Botanic Garden
