MASSive Comic Con returns to Worcester's DCU Center this weekend with some big celebrities and plenty of other things to see. 

Comic Con takes place from June 24 to June 25 opening at 10 a.m. each day.

This year's Con features celebrities like wrestling's Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) and Stranger Things' star Chester Rushing. 

The event also features dozens of artists and writers from well known comics like Wonder Woman, Spider-Man and Harley Quinn. 

Not to mention all the comic book vendors, giving you every oppurtunity to walk out with a cool new book.

With so much going on this weekend, GoLocalWorcester has put together a list of things to see at MASSive Comic Con to help you out.

  • 10.

    Comic Book Vendors

    Need to give love to the comic book vendors who will be at Comic Con showing off and selling off their collections, some of whom will have traveled significant distance to get here.

    These are just normal people who happen to have comic book collections that are worth thousands, if not more.

    Browse through their large selections and find a book, or a couple of books, to add to your collection, maybe you pick up your holy grail of comics, or maybe your new and looking to begin a collection.

    This is a great place to start.

     
  • 9.

    Costumes and Cosplay

    The costumes will be unavoidable, but be sure to take some time and admire them because some of them will be really cool and authentic. 

    MASSive Comic Con will also be hosting a costume contest on June 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Grand North Ballroom. 

    Prizes will be awarded for the following:

    • BEST IN SHOW
    • Best Masters Division
    • Best Journeyman Division
    • Best Novice Division
    • Best Youth Division
    • Best Group Division
    • Best Walk-On
    • Judge’s Awards
     
  • 8.

    25th Anniversary of Harley Quinn Panel 

    Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harley Quinn, the infamous girlfriend of The Joker. 

    The panel will feature Harley Quinn writers and artists Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Stéphane Roux, Paul Mounts, John Timms, Frank Tieri. 

    The panel will discuss how Harley’s changed over the years, why she’s so endearing and the new comic series. 

    The panel will take place on June 25 at 12:30 p.m. in the Grand North Ballroom. 

     
  • 7.

    For the Love of Wonder Woman Panel

    The new Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot has put the character in the spotlight. 

    Panelists Ming Doyle, Amanda Diebert, Jonathan Glapion, Agnes Garbowska talk about what it is like to draw and work on Wonder Woman. 

    The panel will take place on June 24 in the Grand Ballroom South. 

     
  • 6.

    30 Years of Spider-Man Panel 

    With the new Spider-Man movie coming out on July 7, the 30 years of Spider-Man panel is a perfect opportunity to learn some Spider-Man history. 

    The panel will feature Spider-Man artist Alex Saviuk who has worked on the web slinger for 30 years. 

    The panel takes place on June 24 a 1:30 p.m. in the Grand North Ballroom. 

     
  • 5.

    Booker T 

    Booker T. Huffman Jr., known as name Booker T, is a retired professional wrestler and promoter for the WWE. 

    He is also the owner and founder of the independent promotion Reality of Wrestling (ROW) in Texas City, Texas. 

    Booker is best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), holding 35 championships between those organizations. He is the most decorated wrestler in WCW history, having held 21 titles including a record six WCW World Television Championships (along with being the first African American titleholder, and a record eleven WCW World Tag Team Championships: ten as one half of Harlem Heat with his brother, Lash “Stevie Ray” Huffman in WCW, and one in the WWF with Test. 

    Booker was the final WCW World Heavyweight Champion and WCW United States Heavyweight Champion under the WCW banner.

    Chester Rushing 

    Rushing is an actor and musician best known for his role of Tommy H. on Netflix series, Stranger Things. 

    He can also be seen in films such as Logan, Cold Moon, My Father Die, The Duel, Don’t Look in the Basement 2, and Believe Me. Chester has also appeared on the hit shows NCIS: New Orleans and South of Hell. 

    When Rushing isn’t filming, he tours with his band Chester Rushing performing hits from his album, “Halfway Across the Stars”, produced by Ryan Greene. 

    His music has been remixed by multiple DJs across the globe including the hit single, “Paint the World”, which reached #2 on the Italian EDM charts.

    Replica of 1966 Batmobile 

    In honor of the recent passing of Adam West, who played Batman in the 1966 show, check out a replica of the 1966 Batmobile that will be at Comic Con. 

    The series "Batman" ran from 1966 to 1968 and starred West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. 

     
  • 2.

    Lightsaber Academy 

    The Granite State Saber Academy will be hosting multiple classes at MASSive Comic Con teaching everyone how to use lightsabers. 

    The classes are as follows: 

    GSSA Kids Combat: A 30-45 minute interactive combat show for children 3 to 11.

    GSSA Introduction to Stage Combat with Sword: Learn the basics of theatrical combat in a large group setting. Ages 12 & up (Under 18 must have a parent sign in with them)

    GSSA Introduction to Stage Combat with Staff: Is sword not your style? Try your hand at the two handed styles of the bo staff. Ages 12 & up (Under 18 must have a parent sign in with them)
