Tara Reid to Debut at Worcester’s Rock and Shock 2014

Hollywood actress Tara Reid will appear at the 11th annual Rock and Shock from October 17 to October 19.

Rock and Shock

The Rock and Shock is a three day horror and music convention featuring celebrity signings, movie screenings, concerts, and panels. The convention will take place at both the DCU Center and the Worcester Palladium.

Reid, star of the contemporary cult-classics Sharknado and Sharknado 2, will be available to meet fans and sign autographs. She will also be joined by her Sharknado 2 co-star Tiffany Shepis.

Reid will be joining previously announced guests Brad Dourif (Child's Play, Halloween, The Lord of the Rings), John Ratzenberger (Motel Hell, Toy Story 1-3, TV's Cheers), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, The Frighteners, Star Trek),Victoria and Jody Price (Vincent Price's daughter and grandson), Roddy Piper (WWE, They Live), Dee Wallace (The Frighteners, E.T.) and Jake Busey (The Frighteners, Starship Troopers), Nivek Ogre (Skinny Puppy frontman, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Devil's Carnival), Fiona Dourif (Curse of Chucky, True Blood, Deadwood)Tiffany Shepis (Sharknado 2), Alex Vincent (Child's Play 1 & 2), Joe Knetter (Strip Club Slasher) Sarah French (Shriek of the Sasquatch), as well as plenty of as-yet-announced guests. Performers set to take the Rock & Shock stage include King Diamond, Machine Head, Gwar, Life of Agony, Twiztid and more.

Reid bio

Since making her film debut in 1987's A Return to Salem's Lot, Reid has starred in such films as The Big Lebowski, the American Pie series, Urban Legend, Cruel Intentions, Josie and the Pussycats and Alone in the Dark. TV fans will know her best as Danni, one of J.D.'s love interests on the long-running NBC sitcom Scrubs. Reid will next be seen in the upcoming horror film Charlie's Farm alongside Rock & Shock favorites Kane Hodder and Bill Moseley.

    Folk music has been a presence in Newport since 1959, when the Newport Folk Festival was founded by George Wein. Backed by board members Pete Seeger, Theodore Bikel, Oscar Brand, and Albert Grossman, the Festival became renowned for introducing a number of performers who went on to become major stars, most notably Joan Baez (who appeared as an unannounced guest of Bob Gibson in 1959), and Bob Dylan, whose first Newport appearance, as a guest of Joan Baez in 1963, is generally regarded as his premiere national performance.
