Fear: Gallery Opening and Artist Talk
Clark University: Schiltkamp Gallery
92 Downing St.
Worcester, MA 01610
Many people feel that we are living in a time of heightened anxiety. On a global level, enormous environmental issues and despotic leaders give cause for alarm; on a national level, political acrimony, gun violence, and racial and class tensions are raw; and on a personal, psychological level each one of us wrestles with our own demons. Though much of the fear we feel may be very deliberately and artificially manufactured, we humans are hardwired to react to threats of danger regardless of the prompts, and may at times be powerless to allay primitive, emotive response with logical thinking and critical analysis.
