Worcester's July 4 celebration set for June 30
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce announced that Worcester’s annual Independence Day Celebration will take place at Cristoforo Colombo Park on Friday, June 30.  A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, July 1. 

“This is a great day here in the City of Worcester. It attracts more than 30,000 people, giving business a boost. We always look forward to this event; a great partnership with the city, and the tourism agency, Discover Central Massachusetts,” said Timothy P. Murray, president and CEO, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. 

The Celebration 

The park will open for the celebration at 4 p.m. 

Hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, drinks and more will be available for purchase in the refreshment area. 

Kids’ Korner is open from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will feature activities and games as well as Worcester Bravehearts mascot Jake the Lion. 

The celebration will officially begin with a ceremonial flag-raising at 7:40 p.m., followed by a performance by the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductors John Delorey and Jorge Soto. 

The orchestra will continue as a fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

  • Sipping Del's Lemonade on a Hot Day 

    While you can probably find Del's Lemonade somewhere during any month of the year, drinking it in the winter is just not the same as when it is a hot day in the midst of summer. 

    As summer approaches, be sure to locate our nearest Del's Lemonade stand.

  • Waterfire 

    Providence, RI

    Waterfire is back for the summer and it's an event and experience that must be had. 

    As GoLocalProv reported, WaterFire will begin the 2019 season with a basin lighting on Thursday, May 23 or the National Association of State Treasurers Treasury Management Training Symposium and the first full lighting of the season will be Saturday, June 22.

    Waterfire is Providence's signature event bringing in people from all over New England and the country to see it. 

    A great night out for families and couples alike.

    Taking a ride to Cape Cod and visit the oldest summer theatre in the country, Cape Playhouse. Cape Playhouse was first opened in 1927 by Raymond Moore. 

    The theatre has been home to some of the biggest stars to ever grace a stage like Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart amongst others.

    It opens for the summer on June 12 with "The Importance of Being Earnest."
