16-Year-Old Boy Shot in Worcester

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the area of Vernon Street after running away from a group of men who had surrounded him.
The boy is in good condition after suffering a minor injury, but had very little suspect information.
Detectives are working on locating a crime scene.
The Incident
On Friday, September 23, 2016 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Worcester police detectives responded to a local hospital for a report of a shooting victim that had entered the emergency room. The victim was a 16-year-old boy. He was conscious and alert and spoke with detectives.
According to the boy, he was walking on Vernon Street when a group of men surrounded him. He began to run from the group when he was struck with what he thought of at the time to be a pellet from a BB gun. He realized afterwards that he was hit with a bullet.
