3-Year-Old Boy Falls From Third Floor Window of Worcester Apartment

Worcester Police are investigating an incident in which a three-year-old boy fell out of a third-floor apartment window on Plantation street on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the boy is still in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries including facial fractures and a concussion.

The Incident

On Monday, June 18,  at approximately 1:30 p.m., Worcester Police responded to 25 Plantation Street for a report of a baby that had fallen out of a third-floor apartment window. Upon the officers arrival they met with the mother of the three-year-old boy. The mother was holding her son outside of the apartment building. The boy was conscious and crying. The boy was suffering from apparent facial injuries and was bleeding from his mouth.

Worcester EMS arrived at the scene and quickly took the child to a nearby hospital. The mother was hysterical at the scene and accompanied the child in the ambulance. Officers followed the ambulance to the hospital. Officers spoke with the mother after they arrived in the emergency room.

A neighbor stated that they did not observe the incident but became aware of it when they heard the mother outside screaming while holding the child. The neighbor then calledthe police.

Worcester Police detectives arrived at the scene as well as members of the Crime Scene Unit. Investigators will be obtaining a search warrant for the premises as the investigation moves forward. Per standard procedure, DCF was notified of the incident and will be conducting an investigation.
