VIDEO: Social Media Sites Fail to Contain Spread of New Zealand Shooting Footage

Facebook aid in a statement that it has removed more than 1.5 million copies of the clip of the live shooting of the Christchurch, New Zealand massacre.

The attacks on two Christchurch mosques have left 50 people dead and 50 wounded. The live video by the shooter of his own massacre quickly went viral on other major sites like YouTube and Twitter.

Social media companies have been working to remove it, but footage has since been reposted many times.

Officials are now criticizing the tech giants once again for reacting too slowly to harmful content.

Some critics are even accusing the social media companies of purposely letting the video be reposted.
