Synopsis: 20 year old male was shot at 191 Fairhaven Road on 3-11-1951. Goggin had recently came to the USA from his native Ireland and was staying with a family there. Two males about 30 years old came to the door and fired a gun killing Goggin. One of the suspects dropped his brown seal colored felt hat, size 7 Skyline model made by Merrimac Hat Co. of Amesbury, MA.

Synopsis: 29 year old female was stabbed to death at 718 Main Street on 1-10-1979. Her body was found in the rear alley.

Robert Larges

Synopsis: 52 year old male was murdered on 7-11-79 while working at his liquor store at 82 Millbury Street by three unknown suspects. The perpetrators were not caught and the case went unsolved. In 2003 while reviewing the evidence in this case, Lieutenant David Grady located latent prints, which were developed from a carton of cigarettes that were dropped by the killer during the shooting. These latent prints were not mentioned in the written narratives.
In 1979, neither the WPD nor Massachusetts had an AFIS computer. One of these latent prints was searched in the State AFIS computer by Grady, and after 24 years, a suspect was identified. Further investigation determined that the suspect himself had been murdered in Puerto Rico in the 1990s.

Synopsis: 17 year old female was found by her family on 6-6-1989 in Bell Hill Park after being reported missing the day before. Melendez was supposed to graduate from North High School on 6-5-1989 but never showed up to her graduation rehearsal at 9:00 AM. Melendez was last seen returning her work van to Sani-Mate on Shrewsbury Street.

Synopsis: 41 year old female was found in the cellar of 115 Pleasant Street strangled to death on 1-10-1993. She was last seen with James Earl Johnson who was arrested for the murder, but after a grand jury investigation, was released due to lack of sufficient evidence.
UPDATE: On May 11, 2011, the Worcester Police Department once again listed James Earl Johnson as a person in interest. The investigation is ongoing.
