MBTA operating partner Keolis Commuter Services has announced that they will run extra trains after midnight on January 1 to accommodate passengers celebrating New Year’s Eve.
“The commuter rail is a great option for people who want to celebrate the New Year without having to think about driving or parking. Our goal is to help people get to and from New Year festivities in a safe and convenient way. With service free after 8 p.m., we hope to reduce the number of drivers on the road and make commuter rail an even more attractive option for people celebrating around the greater Boston area,” said Tory Mazzola, Director of Public Affairs for Keolis.
The commuter rail will operate on a Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day. Customers should take note that posted times are a trains’ departure times.
