The Millis Police Department announced on Thurdsay that an officer that reported being shot at on Wednesday actually falsified the report of the incident.
The officer was found to have fired shots into his own cruiser to "concoct a story that he was fired upon." The only ballistic evidence was from the firearm that belonged to the officer.
The part-time officer has been terminated. He was scheduled to begin training to become a full-time officer soon.
The officer's name will be released following charges being filed against him.
There is no threat of a shooter in Millis, but the investigation is ongoing.
