Police Investigating Man Who Was Jumped, Seriously Beaten in Worcester

The Worcester Police are investigating a man who was seriously beaten after being jumped in the area of 40 Everett Gaylord Blvd early Monday morning.

The man suffered serious facial fractures, stab wounds and internal bleeding.

The Incident

On Monday, March 12,  at approximately 2:21 a.m., Worcester Police responded to St. Vincent’s Hospital Emergency Room, for a report of a stabbing victim that had walked in. Upon the officers arrival they met with the 42-year-old male victim’s girlfriend. The victim was no longer in the emergency room and was currently having x-rays taken.

The officers were told by the girlfriend that the man had left their apartment at approximately 2:00 a.m.. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes later he returned home bleeding and stated that he had been jumped and possibly robbed of his money.

The victim was convinced by the girlfriend to go to the hospital.

During the interview of the girlfriend, the man returned back to the emergency room. Officers were told by the victim that the incident occurred in the area of 40 Everett Gaylord Blvd. The victim stated that he was jumped from behind and was unable to get a look at the suspect(s).

As a result of the attack, the victim was suffering a large laceration to his face and hand and also suffered fractures to the face along with some internal bleeding.

Due to the serious facial injuries, the victim was being transferred to a Boston Hospital for further treatment.

Investigators were called in to take over the investigation. Members of the Crime Scene Unit were unable to establish a crime scene.
