The Incident

On Wednesday, April 11, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad possessed a search warrant for 119 Rodney Street, apartment #3.

At approximately 5:40 a.m., the search warrant was executed. Vice officers forced the front door open. Upon entry they saw a 29-year-old man sleeping on the couch. The search located Shane Jefferson, 29-years-old of 119 Jefferson Street and Nahila Herrera, 32-years-old of the Rodney Street apartment. Both were secured without incident.

A search of the apartment produced several rounds of two different types of ammunition, an empty handgun holster, and $4,514.00 in cash. The holster and cash were located in a safe.

The search continued and officers located a scale with cocaine residue in it, an additional $155.00 in cash and measuring cups with more cocaine residue in them. The search also located additional drug paraphernalia that is common for street-level drug dealing.
