Worcester Home Broken Into While Owner Was Asleep, Police in Search of Suspect

Worcester Police are in search of a male suspect after he broke into a Sherer Trail home on Tuesday while the home owner was sleeping. 

The suspect is described as a white male, late teens or early twenties, medium build, approximately 5'8" tall, dark hair wearing dark clothing. 

The Incident 

Worcester Police responded to a Sherer Trail home for a break in in progress on Tuesday, May 24 around 12:20 p.m. 

Upon arrival they met with a 42-year-old female victim. 

The victim said that she was sleeping in the living room when she was woken up by her dogs baking. The victim said that she got up and went to check to see if a relative was in another room. 

The victim knocked on the door and an unknown male suspected opened the door. 

Upon seeing the victim the suspect slammed the door shut. When the victim opened the door again, the male suspect jumped out the second floor bedroom window and ran into the woods. 

Police Investigate 

Several police units, including a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit arrived at the scene and searched the area. The search provided negative results. 

Officers at the scene thing that the suspect entered the home through and unlocked first floor window. 

Police Asking For Help 

The Worcester Police are now investigating the incident.
