Another Knife Crime in Worcester - Man Goes After Woman

Another day, another knife crime in Worcester. Early this week a man was stabbed to death and another man was stabbed in the neck at the public library.

Manuel Burgos, 30, of Worcester was arrested after theatening a woman with a knife in the area of Millbury Street on Wednesday morning. 

Burgos was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Incident 

On Wednesday, October 19 at 4:05 AM, Worcester Police were flagged down by a woman in the area of Washington and Lafayette Streets. She reported that she had been approached by a man on a bicycle in the area of Millbury Street as she attempted to enter the home of a friend.

The man held a knife by his side with the blade exposed and began yelling at the her, telling her that she was not allowed to go into the house. He then made a motion towards her with the knife and threatened to cut her. The woman told police that she fled the area out of fear and located the police car.

Police were given a physical description of the man and an approximate location. 

Officers quickly located a man on bicycle in the area of Millbury and Sigel Street that matched the description provided by the victim. Police stopped him and identified him as Manuel Burgos, 30 years old of 87 East Central Street. 

Burgos was positively identified as the man who threatened the victim with the knife.
