A Worcester man was arrested after breaking into a cell phone and computer repair shop on Shrewsbury Street.
Jean Cortes, 26, was charged with breaking and entering and vandalism.
It is currently unknown whether anything was stolen from the business.
On Tuesday, October 30 at about 2:30 a.m., Worcester Police officers were sent to the Cell Phone and Computer Repair shop at 391 Shrewsbury St for a report of a man with a gun.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who saw a man carrying a gun behaving strangely in front of the store. Officers saw a smashed glass front door.
They spoke with witnesses, and were able to view surveillance footage that showed a man, later identified as Cortes of 9 May St #202, who appeared to smash the front door glass and enter the store.
Officers received a second 911 call, stating that the suspect had now broken into a nearby apartment.
Officers arrived and found Cortes hiding in a vacant apartment. They placed him into custody. They identified him as the same man pictured in the surveillance footage.
Cortes was placed under arrest.
