Worcester Man Arrested for Armed Robbery in Fitchburg

Worcester Police helped Massachusetts State Police arrest Conception Rodriguez, 30, of Worcester in connection with an armed robbery which took place in Fitchburg. 

The Incident 

On Thursday, August 25, 2016 at approximately 4:05 AM Massachusetts State Police located an unoccupied suspect car connected to an armed robbery that took place in Fitchburg. The car was discovered parked at 5 Lucian Street, Worcester. The suspect who was identified as 30-year-old Conception Rodriguez of Worcester was believed to be inside the home.

Due to the nature of the incident, the Worcester Police Department SWAT Team and a Worcester Police negotiator was notified and arrived on scene. Officers evacuated the first and second floor of the three decker prior to negotiating with the suspect. Additional officers assisted in securing the perimeter outside of the building and the street was temporarily shut down.

After multiple attempts, contact was made with residents inside the apartment of the suspect. A short time later, at approximately 7:30 AM Rodriguez attempted to exit the residence through the back door. He was arrested by Worcester police officers without incident. Rodriguez was arrested on a warrant obtained by Fitchburg Police for Armed Robbery. He was then transported to the Fitchburg Police Department.
