On January 23, 2017, Worcester Police responded to the Shell Gas station on Madison Street for a report of a 51-year-old man who had been stabbed in the arm.

The investigation revealed that a woman was sitting in a car at the gas station while a man was pumping gas. Police were told that another man approached the woman and engaged her in a fight. The suspect then spit in the woman’s face before fleeing the scene in a car.

The stabbing victim was walking near the gas station during this time. Believing that the victim was somehow involved with the woman from the earlier altercation, the suspect stopped his vehicle and confronted the man. The victim told the suspect that he was not associated with the female from earlier, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm.

Members of the Detective Bureau conducted an investigation and were able to identify the suspect in the stabbing as Rosas. Worcester Police subsequently obtained a warrant for the arrest of Rosas on the charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

On February 16, 2017 at approximately 4:00 PM, Worcester Police Officers and Detectives along with members of the State Police attempted to locate Rosas at his residence located at 10 Bellevue Street. Officers knocked on the apartment door, and as they did other officers outside the residence observed Rosas looking out from a window in the apartment. At the same time, officers at the door could hear someone moving around in the apartment. Rosas refused to open the door, and officers were required to force the door open. Once inside, police observed that two couches had been pushed up against the door to the apartment as a barricade. Officers subsequently searched the apartment and located Rosas in the kitchen. He was placed under arrest without incident.
