Worcester Man & Woman Arrested After Waving Gun at Motorists

Two Worcester Residents were arrested early Monday morning after waving a gun in the air and screaming at motorists.
Oscar Yves, 33, of Worcester was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID.
He was also charged with failure to stop for police.
Victoria Diaz, 19, of Worcester was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
The Incident
On Monday, May 23 at approximately 1:46 a.m., Worcester Police responded to 470 Lincoln Street for a report of a male operating a red minivan waving a handgun while yelling at other motorists.
Officers observed a red Chrysler minivan turn onto North Street extension. Police signaled for the minivan to stop and the operator complied.
Officers approached the van and saw the the occupants fit the description that was provided. The operator of the vehicle was compliant to the officer's orders and was later identified as Yves.
Upon the officer approaching the vehicle, he accelerated through the red light and intersection and onto the I-290 on ramp. Yves took the next exit off the highway and did stop on the off ramp to Lincoln Street.
Police Make Arrests
Inside the vehicle there were four females. All occupants were ordered out of the vehicle one at a time but a search for the weapon produced negative results.
One female was discord to be in possession of a spring loaded knife. The woman, Victoria Diaz was placed under arrest and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
K-9 Finds the Gun
Worcester Police K-9 Django was transported to the scene by his handler. The K-9 conducted a search for the weapon.
The K-9 alerted to a firearm in the grass and officers located a loaded 9mm handgun. The firearm was recovered and secured.
Yves and Diaz were scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at the Worcester County District Court.
