Worcester Woman Found Dead Inside Congress Street Apartment

Sandra Heir, 49, of Worcester was found dead inside her Congress Street apartment on Sunday.
An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was homicide by strangulation.
There is no additional information to release at this time as the investigation is still active. Detectives are working to identify a suspect in this case
The Incident
On Sunday, February 5, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Worcester Police were sent to an apartment at 8 Congress Street for a report of a woman not breathing. Upon arrival, police and paramedics located a deceased female on the floor inside the apartment. Police subsequently identified the victim as Hehir.
Police were told that another resident of the building had located the unconscious victim on the floor and called the police. Worcester Police Detectives responded to the scene to locate and interview any possible witnesses. Crime Scene Unit personnel also responded to document the scene and collect evidence.
As part of the investigation, an autopsy was later performed. As a result of the autopsy, the cause of death was determined to be a Homicide by means of strangulation.
