Holy Cross at Lafayette, Saturday, October 25th, 3:30pm, Fisher Stadium
The Holy Cross Crusaders (2-6, 0-2 PL) visit Fisher Stadium on Saturday afternoon to take on conference rival Lafayette (3-4, 1-PL) in their fourth straight road game. The Crusaders come in having lost five games in a row, the last three of which were real heartbreakers, losing by a field goal each time. In fact, of the six losses Holy Cross has this year, four of them have been by three points or less. The Crusaders will be looking to snap this losing streak and go into a bye week with some momentum and confidence.
Crusaders quarterback Peter Pujals has been excellent so far this season completing 172 of his 284 passes for 1,792 yards and eight touchdowns. His big target to this point has been sophomore wide receiver Jake Wieczorek who leads the team with 39 catches and three touchdowns. In order to get back in the win column, and get a win on the road, the Crusaders will need both of these guys to continue their great play.
Lafayette comes into this game after losing 24-14 to Harvard last week on the road, however, they have not lost back to back games yet this year. The Leopards have yet to lose a home game this season,3-0, and have won the last two games of their series with Holy Cross. Although, the Crusaders have won three of the last four games at Fisher Stadium.
The Lafayette Leopards are led by senior running back Ross Scheuerman who has 137 carries for 699 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Quarterback Blake Searfoss has completed 73 passes for 802 yards and five touchdowns on the season. Lafayette will be looking to get back to the .500 mark overall and one game above .500 in conference play.
The game can be seen on the Patriot League Network and listened to on Holy Cross Radio.
