The
Holy Cross Crusaders edged in-state rival UMass 82-78 on Tuesday night in Amherst, Massachusetts.
The Crusaders improve to 6-3 on the season with the win, while the Minutemen fall to 5-4 overall.

After trailing 41-39 at the half, Holy Cross saw the Minutemen open the second half on a 7-0 run to take a 48-39 lead with 17:35 to left in the game.
The Crusaders would then responded with a 10-1 run to tie the game up at 39.
The score would remain close for several minutes.
With seven minutes left, the game was tied at 62 before the Crusaders went on a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.
The Crusaders went on to hit nine of 12 free throws in the final three minutes to pull out the victory.
Holy Cross was led by Jacob Grandison, who poured in 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Caleb Green added 17 points and six assists.
Next Up
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, December 8 when they face Rhode Island at the DCU Center.
Game time is set for 1 p.m.
