Holy Cross falls to Colgate
The Holy Cross Crusaders football team fell 24-17 to Colgate on Saturday afternoon in Hamilton, New York.

Holy Cross starts the season at 0-1.

Holy Cross' Rally Falls Short

The Crusaders trailed 24-0 at the half before rallying in the second.

Holy Cross got on the board when freshman kicker Derek Ng nailed a 28-yard field goal to cut Colgate’s lead to 24-3.

Early in the fourth quarter, junior quarterback Emmett Clifford found junior running back Domenic Cozier for a 41-yard touchdown on a fourth-down play to make the score 24-10.

After a stop by the defense on the Raiders’ next possession, Holy Cross drove 69 yards in 14 plays with Cozier scoring from one-yard out on fourth-and-goal to trim the margin to 24-17 with 6:59 left to play.

However, Colgate picked up three first downs on its final drive to run out the clock and seal the win.

The Crusaders defense allowed just 75 yards of total offense and no points in the second half.

Cozier totaled 108 yards from scrimmage in the game, with 54 rushing yards on 12 carries and five receptions for 54 yards.
