The
Holy Cross Crusaders men’s basketball team got 14 points from junior Jehyve Floyd, but fell 88-66 to the University of Rhode Island Rams on Sunday afternoon in Rhode Island.
The loss drops the Crusaders to 2-1 on the season.
URI Cruises in 2nd Half
Holy Cross trailed by three at the half, 40-37, before being outscored 28-29 in the second half.
The Rams led by as much as 12, 60-48 with 10:55 to play in the game before Holy Cross would cut their deficit to five, 62-57, with 8:27 to play in the game after a three from Matt Zignorski.
From there, the Rams would go on a 16-2 run sparked by a Nicola Akele three-point play and capped off by a jumper from Terrell to take a 78-59 lead with 4:53 to play.
Holy Cross would not get closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
Next up
Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, November 22 when they visit Fairleigh Dickinson.
Game time is set for 2 p.m.
