Peter Pujals and the Holy Cross offense looks to get back on track
The Holy Cross Crusaders football (2-3, 1-1 PL) team will seek to snap a two-game losing streak on Saturday when they host (4-1) Monmouth at Fitton Field.

“Monmouth is a very good team with a roster full of talented players. They have been very impressive so far this year, as evidenced by their near-perfect record,” said Holy Cross head coach Tom Gilmore.

Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.

Holy Cross vs Monmouth

Saturday’s game will be only the third all-time meeting between the two teams with the series tied at 1.

The last time the two teams met was in 2015, with Holy Cross taking a 27-19 win.

Running back Diquan Walker leads the Crusaders with 207 yards and four touchdowns on 44 carries.

Holy Cross Defense

The Holy Cross defense enters the game as the eighth-best third-down conversion defense in the nation, allowing teams to convert only 27.8% of the time.

They also enter as the 22nd best scoring defense in the country, giving up just 18 points per game.

The defense is led by linebacker Nick McBeath, who has racked up 53 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
