Holy Cross beats Lafayette
The Holy Cross Crusaders football team won their second game in a row on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lafayette 40-14.

With the win, Holy Cross improves to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League, while Lafayette falls to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in conference.

Lafayette opened the game by jumping out to a 14-0 first quarter lead behind touchdown runs by Nick Pearson and C.J. Amill.

However, Holy Cross would rally.

The Crusaders would score 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 17-14 halftime lead.

After freshman kicker Derek Ng nailed a 36-yard field goal, and junior running back Domenic Cozier added two one-yard scoring runs to give the Crusaders the lead.

In the second half, Holy Cross put the game way.

Cozier scored his third touchdown of the day from two yards out, while Holy Cross quarterback Geoff Wade threw touchdown passes of 50 yards to  Richie DeNicola and 27 yards to Derek Mountain.

In addition, Ng kicked a second field, from 24 yards out.

Wade finished the game completing 16 of 21 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Next Up

The Crusaders retune to action on Saturday, November 10 when they host Fordham.

Game time is set for 12 p.m.
