Boston 2024 announced its Board of Directors on Wednesday, representing the next step in the process of competing to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Along with leaders from the United States Olympic Committee, the board also consists of Boston sports legends who are all in support of the 2024 games.

The board consists of Celtics legend and current President of the Indiana Pacers Larry Bird who won three NBA Championships in Boston while also participating in the Olympics as part of the 1992 Dream Team.

Rhode Island's Michelle Kwan, a former Olympic figure skater and is currently a member of the U.S. President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, a nine time Major League Baseball all-star and a three time world champion with the Red Sox. Ortiz helped bring the Red Sox their first World series tittle in 86 years.

The group is rounded out by JoJo White, a Celtics legend, Olympian and soon to be basketball Hall of Famer.

“The Boston 2024 Partnership is fortunate to be surrounded by this breadth of talent and depth of expertise as we collectively showcase the significance of the Olympic Games for our city,” said John Fish, the chairman of the 2024 board.
