Jeremy Hill is out for the season
Patriots running back Jeremy Hill is out for the season with a torn ACL, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Hill signed a one-year deal with the Patriots as a free agent this past offseason after spending four years with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Injury

After the Texans recovered a Rob Gronkowski’s fumble, Hill was going to make the tackle, but fullback James Develin was blocked into the side of Hill’s right knee and it buckled as he fell.

Hill stayed on the ground for several minutes before being helped to the sidelines.

Prior to getting injured, Hill had four catches for 25 yards for the Patriots.

Running Back Depth

With Hill out for the season, the Patriots are down to four running backs, including Develin.

The other three running backs are Rex Burkhead, James White, and rookie Sony Michel, who missed all of the preseason and the first game of the regular season with an injury.
