Pee Wee Football Team Plays 18-Year-Old Against 12 and 13 Year Olds

18 year-old plays in youth tackle game against 12

A Coach for the Capital City Buccaneers youth football team dressed and played an 18-year-old man against 12 and 13 year-olds in a game in the RI Pre-Teen Football League. 

The incident took place on Sunday.

The Capital City Buccaneers are part of the RI Pre-teen Football League. The incident took place in the second half of the Capital City Buccaneers' game against the Tri-town Titans. According to the head of the program, the head coach put an 18-year old into the game. 

It was noticed and the player was removed later in the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers 34-9 loss. 

Alexandra Diaz, the founder of the Capital City Buccaneers confirmed the incident to GoLocalProv.com and said she was “totally disgusted by it.” 

"Yes we had an incident yesterday, it was very quickly noticed. As soon as we noticed it we took that person out and and I took the action I needed and fired the coach of our varsity team and canceled the rest of the season," said Diaz.

“I’m so disgusted with what happen because that is not how I run my organization. This is not what we represent, we do not want to injure children." 

The Capital City Buccaneers are in their first year and have two football teams (varsity and pee wee) and also have multiple cheerleading teams.

RI Pre-Teen Football and Cheer Association is not affiliated with any National football or cheerleading organization.  We have long thought that we can serve the children of RI best by tailoring our rules based on the children we have here.  Many National organizations tailor their rules to fit all he children throughout the nation in order to have National Championships.  While National Competitions are ok, it simply requires that all participating organizations play under the same National Rules in order that a few towns can fairly compete for titles. RI Pre-Teen Football and Cheerleading rules are based on the NFHS rule book with a few variations in order to fit our age groups.

Each organization in R.I Preteen is run independently and have their own board and bylaws, so issues at the organization level are handled by them.

RI Pre Teen has a standing relationship with Football University to participate in a national championship, which is held at the Alamo Dome annually.  This event is associated with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, as seen on national television. Football University also provides valuable camps to teach our players the techniques necessary to develop their talent for the future.
