Rajon Rondo on verge of being traded
According to ESPN, the Boston Celtics are on the verge of trading point guard and team captain Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Jae Crowder, Brandon Wright, Jameer Nelson and a 2015 first round draft pick and a future second.

Rondo has averaged eight points, just under 11 assists and seven rebounds per game for the Celtics this season and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of it and would likely be looking for a contract somewhere in the $20 million range.

Celtics Get:

Brandon Wright- A 6'10" power forward who has averaged seven points and just under four rebounds per game in his career. This season with Dallas, Wright has averaged eight points and four rebounds per game.

Jae Crowder-  A 6'6" small forward who in his two year career has averaged five points and two rebounds per game. This season with Dallas, Crowder averaged just under 13 minutes a game and 3.6 points per game.

Jameer Nelson- Easily the biggest name that the Celtics are getting in return, Nelson has averaged seven points and four assists per game playing point guard for the Mavericks this season. In his career, Nelson has averaged 12 points and five assists per game, playing the majority of his career with the Orlando Magic.

Dallas now the team to beat?

Rajon Rondo going to Dallas could very well make them the team to beat, not only in the West, but in the NBA. Rondo joins Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons and a team that is 19-8 so far on the season.

Marcus Smart Era begins

With Rondo on the way out, the Marcus Smart era will begin. Smart was the Celtics first round pick in the 2014 NBA draft and has averaged six points and two assists per game. Smart has only played in ten games this season for the Celtics due to injury.
